One of the first questions our patients tend to have when considering Invisalign is, "How much will it cost?" In our office, we have two fees depending if it is an express case ( as low as $3135) or a full case( as low as $5035).
In simple terms, an express case is treatment that can be finished in 5 months or less whereas a full case usually takes 6 months or more. We are always surprised how many patients can fall under the express criteria and get outstanding results.
Dr Roca usually sends all cases as an express to see the results that she can get under the 5 months treatment and if we are not satisfied with the results in 5 months we ask for them to upgrade the case to a full. This way when you come to view your 3D movie of your smile in our office you can decide for yourself which outcome you like the best. We can always approve less expensive treatment as long as it achieves the results you are looking for in your smile. Afterall, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
We have found that our office is most always less expensive than most orthodontic offices for Invisalign. We also find that on the whole, our prices are comparable to metal braces.
What about insurance? Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign just as they would other orthodontic treatments like braces. Our financial coordinator or your insurance carrier can help you to determine the exact coverage for your treatment. About a quarter of Invisalign patients receive insurance compensation for their treatment. On average, insurance pays over $500 of treatment costs.
What about Flexible Spending Accounts?
Many companies offer their employees FSAs. An FSA allows you to set aside a portion of your paycheck in order to pay for qualified medical expenses.
The money you elect to contribute is deducted from your pay and transferred directly into your FSA and, therefore, is not subject to payroll taxes. After incurring eligible medical costs, you can then submit your receipt for reimbursement from your FSA provider.
Since Invisalign falls under orthodontic treatment, these costs can qualify for FSA reimbursement. If your company offers an FSA and you know you'd like to use it to pay for Invisalign, plan ahead and consult your benefits department. When it comes time to enroll in your program, you can authorize a deduction for the appropriate amount for your Invisalign treatment and save money while doing it, since its a pre-tax contribution. Its an easy and convenient way to get the smile you want.
